There is a moment I stop remembering

I need to remember what it is I have forgotten
The journey I embark upon is to take me back, and bring me forward

The seagulls I hear in my dreams
on the edge of this rocky island
in my faraway imagined ancient homeland
have the same sound
as the gulls at the beach where I walk
in my everyday life

I realise this as I wake
in my never ending forgetfulness
