a
body of water
My body of water
once fluid temperate and transparent
floating in mother
floating in ocean sea
that once upon a time place of fairy tales
and honest promises
that place of bleached shells
brittle as bones
and popping bubbles of blue
like sand sailors . beached shipwrecked fooled.
This land body
forgetting how we walked on water
submerged in oceans of earth
playing under whirling sprinklers
and running squinty-eyed hunched
over in the rain
this land body longing for lightness weightless
dreaming
remembering the forgetting of
the body of water once had. |
